Collection '98 (98 cards in gallery so far) Sketchagraphs were included 1 per 36 packs (36 packs per box). There've been attempts by a number of collectors to create a "checklist" for the Marvel Creators Collection as no one really knows how many artists participated or what characters they drew. You can find links to some of those partial checklists at the bottom of this page. A teacher from the Kubert school recently confirmed a theory of mine: many of the sketchagraphs for this card set were drawn by 3rd year students at the Kubert Art School as "student projects". Other artists who are known to have done MCC sketchagraphs of DD, for which I haven't been able to obtain a card or image include: Victor Gatmaitan, Clint Hilinski. The image to the right is on the back of all the MCC sketchagraph cards. |

Denver W. Brubaker |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The second & third images are actually from a "complete listing" of Brubaker sketchagraphs grabbed from another sketchagraph site. I haven't actually seen those cards in person or on ebay yet. I suspect Brubaker xeroxed all the cards he did (hence the lack of blue lines?), and this person got hold of the scans. The fourth image is from a set of card-sized "sketches" Brubaker decided to do in 2001 in an effort to capitalize on the success of the sketchagraph cards. This was #6 in the series. |

Mariano Nicieza |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The fifth card shown above was a bit of a mystery for quite a while. Another collector showed me a scan and asked if I had any idea which artist had done the work. I had the sketchagraph posted under "UNKNOWN" for a good 4 years or so, when finally I heard from someone who recognized that it was Nicieza's work: Mariano Nicieza himself! -grin- You have to love the internet! Thanks kindly, Mr. Nicieza, for clearing up the mystery! |
Jimmy Palmiotti |
![]() ![]() These are a bit odd. The first one was "unofficial", ie it doesn't have the "official" MCC stamp. The signature goes off the card, and it doesn't even match the signature Palmiotti seems to usually use (see: Authentix Gallery). However, the second one is on an uncut card (much of the blank uncut card is not shown). The signatures seem to be closer...maybe the first one was a trimmed down "uncut" card? However, the DDs seem awfully different from each other for the same artist... |

Mark Texeira |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Special note: While I have no way to confirm it, I've been told by an avid collector that Texeira only did 30 watercolors total (including ALL characters), and that there may only be 1 watercolor of any given character. Update: while there may be only 30 watercolors total, there's obviously at least four Daredevil watercolors. |
