Daredevil Jet Copter (#109KD) Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars: Daredevil Jet Copter 1985 Buddy L. orig. retail: $?.?? A rather unusual piece. I've only seen 2 or 3 in over 5 years on ebay, and I haven't found it listed in any toy catalogs yet. I'm also not sure what other characters/pieces were in this series of toys. I've also seen a few other Buddy L toys in this series. Most of the bad guys seem to favor the Rocket Sleds, whereas the good guys all seem to go for the Jet Copters. Pictured below are Spidey, Baron Zemo, Doc Ock, Electro, Iceman, and the Hobgoblin. I suspect there were quite a few others as well. |

While the Johnny Lightning line gets high marks for new DD cars (6 total so far with more
planned), Maisto certainly gets an "A" for coming out with the widest range of DD vehicles: a car, a plane,
a motorcycle, a monster truck, and a 1:24 scale car (with a version also available as an assembly kit) so far.
The series of 25 cars was also repackaged and sold in 5 groups of 5 later on, and I've also seen the DD car sold as a two pack with the Elektra car, so I assume other cars in the series were also probably paired up in two packs as well. There was a series II on the "Air Force Collection" which included a whole group of new aircraft about a third of which were the Hulk (this release coincided with the Hulk movie). However, there was no Daredevil in that release. |

Marvel Die-cast Collection (Series #2) #30 Daredevil/'34 Ford Hot Rod (9982) 2003 Maisto International, Inc. orig. retail: $?.?? This car is also available in a two-pack as was the series #1 car. I suspect it will become available in 5 packs and a giant gift set like the previous DD car as well. |

Ultimate Marvel Motorcycle Collection (Series #1) Daredevil/Ducati Supersport 900 (326-1) 2002 Maisto International, Inc. orig. retail: $?.?? Unfortunately, this "die-cast" vehicle is about 90% plastic. The wheels in particular feel very flimsy due to the plastic axles and plastic wheels. I noticed that the Maisto car (above) also feels a lot "lighter" and less durable than its Johnny Lightning counterparts. On the plus side, the motorcycle has a steerable front end that actually swivels and a working kickstand. There is no Daredevil "art" on the bike itself other than some flames and a DD logo. The DD figure on the backing card art is from the cover of Daredevil #13 by John Romita with a generic city background added in. |

Ultimate Marvel Air Force Collection (Series #1) Daredevil/P-61 Black Widow (9977-1) 2002 Maisto International, Inc. orig. retail: $?.?? I thought it was appropriate that Daredevil got the "Black Widow" as his Air Force plane. If anyone knows where the artwork for the backing card or the plane on this one came from, please let me know. |

Marvel Die Cast Collection (1:24 scale) Daredevil Honda S2000 (#31004) 2003 Maisto International, Inc. orig. retail: $?.?? This is by far the coolest of all the diecast toys: working doors, working hood, rolls well. The engine & interior of the car have some nice detailing as well. Now if I could only find a DD figure that would fit it just right!! (note: the bottom of the car has a 2002 copyright date, but the box has a 2003 copyright, and that's when it became available). |

Marvel Model Kits (1:24 scale) Daredevil Honda S2000 (#39004) 2002 Maisto International, Inc. orig. retail: $14.99 This is a ready to assemble die cast "model" kit. It's very similar to the 1:24 scale car above, except that the paint job & side decals are different. The kit includes all the parts needed plus a small screwdriver to assemble the car. |

Marvel 3" Model Kits Daredevil Chevrolet Corvette (19322L) 2003 Maisto International, Inc. orig. retail: $?.?? As of October 2003, I still haven't seen this one in stores. It's been on the Maisto website, however, since the end of 2002 or early 2003. I understand these are supposed to be model kits similar to the 1:24 model kits, except smaller of course. |

Marvel Mega Trucks Daredevil Ford F-150 Flareside 2003 Maisto International, Inc. orig. retail: $?.?? The Mega Trucks are "motorized", which is to say that when you pull back on them, they go forward. They'll actually go forward quite a ways, but if you want them to go over a bump or hill, you have to let them build up a little speed first. If you try to get them to go over a bump or hill before they've built up enough speed, these "Mega" trucks stop cold! However, the big rubber wheels are very cool. The spring-loaded suspension on both axles is pretty neat as well! A fun vehicle (even if it has absolutely no guts whatsoever). |

Marvel Movers & Haulers Daredevil 2003 Maisto International, Inc. orig. retail: $?.?? I never saw this one in stores. My good friend Adam Gilbert (fellow DD collector and also Punisher fanatic - I don't get it either!) found this one for me. According to him, it never hit the KB stores - it went straight to their discount/clearance outlets. The copyright on the toy actually says 2002, but I heard about it in 2003, and Adam didn't find it until 2004! The truck also features doors on the back of the trailer that open and a fold up trailer stand/wheels for when the trailer is detached from the cab. |

The Johnny Lightning cars have included four main releases plus some "special" releases. The
lists of cars for each release are given below. Each car in the basic sets (I don't know about the special sets) also
has an unlabeled "White Lightning" version with rubber tires instead of plastic. The White Lightning version is found on
approximately 10% of the vehicles. The art/decals for each car are styled after the cover art for a particular issue. The basic set releases include a trading card sized reproduction of that cover art as well. Instead of a trading card, the "Yesterday & Today" and "Billboards" special releases (which have 2 cars each) have a pull tab sign/billboard instead with the cover art for the two issues. |
