Super-Heroes Patches 10.5cm (4.25") diameter ©1977 This is actually an adhesive backed "fuzzy/felt/crushed velvet" sticker as much as a patch. I've included it here as it came in a Super-Heroes Patches bag when I bought it, but I've also included it in the Stickers page. |
Well, either there were two sets of packaging, or the above packaging was redone by someone at some point. Special thanks to Lynch for putting me in touch with the image to the right which shows at least five character patches and four logo patches. These were called "Pat-Ons" and done by Nielsen Novelties. The set shown right includes Iron Man, Captain America, The Thing, Daredevil, and Thor. |

1996 Access Tag (#1CMG5625) 1996 Chris Martin Enterprises 9 x 5.5cm (3.5 x 2") - comes with chain Chris Martin (a retired NFL player) created NFL "dog tags" (plastic trading cards meant to be worn on a chain). He later became the company Crown Pro. In 1996 he made a series of Marvel "access tags", similar to the NFL dog tags. I'm not sure whether he or Marvel had hoped to actually use these as access cards for some big event(s) or not. There are at least four other characters that I know of (shown in picture on the right): Storm, Dr. Doom, Wolverine, and Iron Man. The DD tag design is based on the Marvel magnet. | ||
note: Thanks to Mike Allison for the above info. You can find Mike as "seemystore" on ebay, or you can check out his online storefront at: http://shop.vendio.com/gousainc/. He may even have some of the above dog tags available to purchase. |
