Marvel Super Hero Stamps - 1976 (Marvel?)
#M-AV1 Marvel Super Hero Stamp Album (including stamps) 1976 Marvel Super Heroes Stamps art: ? This stamp album included 6 rectangular sheets of stamps plus 6 special foil stamps. Each sheet had 10 stamps on it. The stamps (incl. the foil ones) all had a place to be mounted in the paperback album. Each character had their own page (or shared one), as shown to the right & below to the right, with a brief description of the character & places to put the stamps. DD had 4 stamps of his own (no foil one), and one he shared on the Capt. America page. The stamps also had indiv. numbers. In order below, they are: M77, M72, M112, M128, M93. It was also possible to order the sheets of 10 stamps separately (FBM-7 - FBM-12) for 50 cents each. Examples of those packets of 10 are shown below the individual stamps (the Hulk block of 10 is not shown). The Spidey, Cap, and Iron Man blocks contained the indiv. stamps shown below, & the Thor block contained the Cap/DD stamp.
On the right are the pages within the album where the stamps were to be mounted. Each character had a little splash picture & brief bio entry, and then places to place the stamps for that character. DD shared a double page spread with the Sub-mariner.

Congo Postage Stamps - 2002 (Rèpublique Dèmocratique du Congo)
"Knights" Postage Stamps 2002 Rèpublique Dèmocratique du Congo art: Boris Vallejo (Daredevil), Julie Bell (Patrolling New York) The art for these stamps, and for the border on the full stamp sheet, comes from the 1996 Marvel Masterpieces cards. The nine stamps are: Flash, Invisible Woman, Punisher, Daredevil, Dr. Strange, Elektra, Dr. Doom, Human Torch, Patrolling New York (Daredevil) I'm not exactly sure why "the Flash" is here other than the fact that someone in the Congo Postal Service doesn't have a clue as to which characters belong to Marvel and which belong to DC Comics. The Republic of Congo apparently uses the Central African Franc for their currency (as does Gabon, Chad, Cameroon, and several other cenral African countries). I assume that's what the "CF" stands for on the stamps. |

DD Coin - Movie Promo 2003 manufactured by ? orig. retail: free (promo) These were promo coins handed out to promote the Daredevil movie. I believe they were available at the San Diego Con 2002, but I'm not sure of that. If anyone out there can let me know where & when these were distributed, I'd appreciate it. The one in the picture here has a deep red/burgundy look to the pouch, and the coin almost looks like it has a little tarnish to it. The coin I received came with a scarlet red pouch and a glossy, cheap chrome mirror finish. I don't know if the pic here is because the coins and pouches varied, or just due to the camera. I prefer the burgundy! The coins read "MAN WITHOUT FEAR" on one side, and "Daredevil" in braille on the other side. |
